The 1960-D LMC 5,000 bag is here and I opened it up a few hours ago. I thought it would be here later in the week, so I only can spend a few minutes showing what this bag is producing so far. When it slows down here, I will look these up and let you know the outcome. I managed to go through about 300 or so coins, that's a wild guess. I'd say the total RPM's found are close to a roll, probably between 45-50 coins total. Here are the majority of them; There are a lot that appear to have a weak split serif that I am putting into the "maybe" pliƩ that I will look over. I like all sorts of mint mark varieties, and all I can hope for is a wider selection as we go. If not, no big deal, quantity of anything beats nothing at all. I'll update this post as time permits !

Since coppercoins lists 170 rpms, you'll find lots more.

This 1960-D bag is full of issues. Nothing really big yet. I weighed the bucket where I put the maybe's and no's weighs 4.5 pounds, and there are roughly 3 rolls per pound, so that's 12 rolls of coins (600 coins)that are finished being looke over on the first pass. That's not many so called regulars and potential maybe's left. I already have ; Nearly 4 rolls of mixed RPMs. There are probably 3-4 varieties in these rolls. About 50% of these RPM's are of the one in the Bottom pic above I have nearly 2 rolls of the RPM that is shown in the top picture and I have near 4 rolls of a die chip that is on the left side of the Lincoln Memorial, I have pics of it in another post about the 1960-D bag...If its related to an RPM, I haven't found out yet.... That's nearly 500 in issues, and nearly a 50/50 split on the first pass so far and I have completed maybe 1000-1200 coins.

I may have found a match for the pic above, the one with the die chip. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=ldsThe pic at CC website is for a LDS (late die state). The one I have out of a mint bag is probably either EDS (early die state) or MDS (medium die state). I am investigating the others, but it will take some time.

I am passing on quite a few possibilities and I am STILL at a ton of RPM's In the "2nd pass bucket" I have about 10 pounds of 1960-D copper cents which is about 30 rolls (1500 coins). And in the "good pile"..... I have about 17 rolls which is about 850 RPM's and I still have about - what looks like - half the bag to go through. I'll end up giving a finally tally probably later this week. I needed more coin tubes and 2x2 mylars, I an running out fast - so I ordered 200 tubes and 2500 1C mylars, I hope that's enough !

Ok, the first pass of this 1960-D bag is complete.
The Top picture above, I ended up with just over 7 rolls. The RPM with the die chip, I ended up with 14 rolls. I have "mixed tubes " of a few different RPMs, which total 15 rolls. I believe there are 3-4 diffferent RPms in these mixed tubes.
I have 4 rolls of light serif splits which will be revisited when I do a quick 2nd pass on what is left. When I was pulling RPM's Any that were questionable or weak, I put into a bucket and will do a second quick pass of what is left and see if any others will show up good enough to be considered for sale. I am picky - probably too picky when it comes to RPM's. I don't assume since the mint mark appears to be thicker or tilted that it is a variety. I tell myself, if I cannot show the customer that its truly an RPM, I don't expect to see the money and puchase of the coin.
This coming weekend will give me ample time to sort what I have and eventually locate which RPM's these are.

First pass is FINALLY done. Sorting of these finds (so far) is done
(14) rolls RPM with extra metal on last column ( no pics yet) (8) rolls RPM with super thick "D" with wide chisel serif, potential D/D/D (pic #1 above) (14) rolls RPM with die chip on left side of Lincoln Memorial (Pic #2 and 3 above) (1) roll RPM with a die chip near "O" in One (reverse) (1) roll RPM with no common markers yet.
So on the first pass its 38 rolls which is between 1800-1900 Rpms. I'll probably go with Coop's suggestion and mail John Wexler one of each and let him do the attribution for me on a few of these RPM's. I was contemplating it since these don't seem to be an easy match so far. A few candidates are 1960-D RPM's #47, 61, 81 and 88. There may be a few more but I'll do a quick look again tomorrow.
