Here it is. The reverse seemed to be free of green stuff entirely. If it is verdegris, will it eventually cover the entire coin? And if it is stored in a 2x2 is it protected from further damage?

Very possibly, but the color seems off. Perhaps it's a result of the photo, its color might be what's off.

Have you tried acetone?

Actually the color is very accurate to the coin itself, this is exactly how it looks in person and I used normal lighting.

I have not tried acetone.

Looks like this coin has been in the ground for some time.
It reminds me of ancient coins which look like this, after an initial cleaning.
It is possible to have a wide variation in colour with ancient copper and bronze coins, retrieved from burial.

Unfortunately, it does have small bronze disease (verdigris) spots on it.
Do a web search on how to passivate this problem.

Not much you can do for this coin. I would just buy a better example as they're fairly cheap.

To my experience, acetone will not much improve this coin, but it will remove some of the surface verdigris and thus help conserve it. Do be sure that the coin is thoroughly dry before putting it in a flip. It appears that the verdigris may have eaten its way below the coin's surface. This would be a good coin to experiment with a thorn to dig away at the verdigris. A thorn won't scratch the coin's surface.
