Yeah, that is what I was leaning towards doing.

Why would you need a cent at either end as ""sacrifices?""

The extra cents work as sacrficies as they will be the ones that absorb any environmental issues first, before coins in the roll will

Not to be a naysayer, and I should add that I have hoarded a roll of each myself, but does anyone really think that these are going to be worth much more than face in the near (50yrs) future.
The coppers maybe or even the proofs, but the zinclons ?

I saw some right now that are going for $10 for 2 rolls on ebay. Professional life and all. I think this is ridiculous, but that's what ebay shows.

Like mentioned before, It's the "varieties/errors" that will show premiums! Check ebay on these 2009 Cents. You'll find that some sell right NOW for some good $$$. Esp. the "skeleton finger". Check it out.-joey

Yeah, and I guess that is why the rolls sell right now. I will look at those. I also have a whole bunch from circulation I guess I should look for the errors on. Thanks.

Yeah, those are going for some good money. Can you tell the skeleton error with just your eyes?

If I remember, there were 4-5 varieties of finger errors that came out in 2009. At their peak, sealed mint boxes sold for as much as $250 on ebay, often with 20+ bids. I was lucky enough to have like 5-10 boxes (all formative years) shipped to my work when they came out. With a little sweet talk, I was able to buy about 15 unbroken mint rolls from the cash office, in addition to putting together about 10 rolls that the office had already broken for the tills. I searched some for errors, but never found any. So, they're just sitting in my closet until I eithe pass them on to my kids, or the demand for unsearched rolls drives the price up again.

When these first came out, I went to my local bank and bought some bank boxes of these(2009 Bicentennials)All for face! $25 boxes of 50 rolls. This is how I accumulated so many of these varieties today. Some "skeletons" included as well. All for FACE. These will get hot soon.-joey

Sealed bank box are listed in the $200+ territories..... back then, the thought of buying bank box was just for accumulation and since not many varieties discovered yet..... after a few years, there are so many varieties are discovered (Wexler already listed 101 varieties of 2009 DDR just for the formative year). As more varieties get discovered and goes mainstream, it will create a boost for the series as a whole and the 2009 short set in particular. Thank you for bringing this short set into focus. You have re-ignited my interest for it. I've just checked back my small box that I have accumulated about 65 of the two most prominent 'extra finger' DDR. I'd paid for them at a few bucks each (not at face like joeykoins).... I still wish I should have getting more. It's still not too late as they are still reasonably priced (compare to others).

I wish I would have got more in 2009. I bought a set with 2 coins in a little folder. It is pretty neat. I wish I would have also got some 2009 nickels and dimes.

Yes, the nickles and dimes back then, were a whole lot tougher to come by than the 2009 Bicentennial cents! I think it's the nickles that were selling for 30-35 dollars a roll.Very low mintage,is the reason.-joey

Yeah, I find very few of those when I am roll hunting. Sometimes they are as hard to come by as War Nickels.
