Dear Sirs, I have two 1958-D Lincoln cents ( the scans attached ). The distance between the date 1958 and the mintmark D is different ,would you please let me know if this difference is an Error or a Variety
The date should be consistent in it's position but as stated, the M.M. can be just about anywhere. If the mint mark is actually abutting (touching the date or other devices) then it could have a slight premium. Not an error or variety though either way.
