This was sold as 1786 Colonial. Because it is so worn I am not sure it is attributable, but I figure if anyone can it will be you colonial guys here on CCF:) I am thinking the LIB on the reverse may be helpful? I have been looking without any luck at the 1786's in my bowers book and am questioning the 1786 attribution from the seller.

I don't know squat about american colonial copper or their attributions but that last digit sure looks like a 7 to me.

Thedollarman, I am now convinced that that it is a 1787.

I am thinking this has got to be a *INDE*ET* (on left)/ *LIB (on right). I am working on which one.

Could the reverse be Miller B?
The B of LIB is distant and I think I see a ribbon under the left elbow?
Also, there is a non-uniform line connecting between the staff & shield.

CK, I have seen miracle workings of V, P, A, and others. I am trying to duplicate their miraculous powers!

BTW, anyone want to give a grade? I forgot to ask.

While am probably flailing wildly.
The LIB right really narrows down the possibilities!
I am going to go with W-2755 (Miller 2-B), because:
The B of LIB is distant and tilted.
The location of the D in INDE.
I see a ribbon under the left elbow.
The line connecting between the staff & shield is flattened.
For the obverse their is only one mailed bust to choose from for the Miller B reverse.
I am seeing the closed last C of CONNEO giving the Legend diagnostic.

I am sure the experts will be along to set me straight.

Connecticut's are not my bag but I can see Miller 2B. Certainly looks to be no cinqfoils, dashes, arrows et al. on the INDE ET/LIB or on the obverse AUCTORI/CONNEC.

2-B all the way; good job, TJ! He got it first, since the B reverse is practically unique to that variety.
