Hello and good day

My sister's deceased father left her with a bunch of coins that she would like to know the value of probably for selling.

Now I was browsing online to see how this works and I found out a couple of sources and information on this. Now I sent an email to Heritage Auctions with a list of some of my Morgan dollars and they replied with "Well most Morgan dollars sell for 20 to 50 a piece and that was fantastic and all but I do know that there are details that could increase the value of my coins. So if I sell one I have for $20 and later I find out it had something that made it worth more well that would be a bummer.

Anyways I was looking online and found out this website with this forum and I would love to have your help on this in giving me as much information as you can for me to do the right thing.

Those are scans, not images, so I won't bother trying to grade them. I will tell you this much; Check your email, I have an offer for you. Not to buy them, but a little better for you.

Pictures show luster, scans do not. Luster can make the difference between AU and high-grade MS.

I'm sorry for your loss. That is always hard.

In regards to your Morgans - we have a specific section for those here that would probably be a great help. Morgan dollars are sought after by variety - each year has different varieties (called VAMs) that can potentially raise their value in addition to the actual grade (condition) of the coin. If you provide clear, large images by camera, the most knowledgeable people can help you in that section.

Try posting one topic per coin and take very clear and large pictures with your camera. If you need help posting the images, let us know.

Here is the section: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...FORUM_ID=129 - good luck!
