to CCF. I am no pro but it looks like post mint damage,a stain maybe from an acid. Give it a bit and a pro will chime in.

Looks like something was spilled on it. If it were a black beauty it would be uniform in darkness.

I see so I'll be using this one for the washing machine in that case. I also came across a 1984 (my birth year) P quarter just yesterday thats worth looking at with obvious errors, should I post a pic of it here or begin a new topic?

Best to keep topics to one coin. When someone wants to search, it is easier to find the coin easier.
