I can find no reverse die match when comparing to Russ Logan's collection. I am at a loss so far. One thing I cannot find on another reverse is the heavy thunes in the shield. There's no "dead ringer" match as far as logotype either.

This should arrive in a day or 2 from Quarto, Italy...at which time I will be able to discern die markers better than I can from these scans.

I wanted an open collar bust dime for my type set, I wanted it in nice condition, and didn't want to break the bank. This coin fulfilled all of the criteria.

I may have published them from a private folder ... though I didn't know there was one. The images are hosted on Imgur, a picture hosting service like photobucket. I changed the urls, so hopefully you'll get to see them now.

I agree ... looks like JR-6. My camera an take good pictures...but I can't.

The interesting thing about this coin, is that it's in nice enough condition to easily see that the legends were punched by hand. The letters are of varying heights.

Its got some fine scratches that aren't evident in the scans. You know ... the kind you get when you hand a coin to a clueless individual and they get that "alladin's lamp" compulsion to rub across the coin with their thumb.

I may soak it in distilled water and see if that spot by the date will come off with compressed air.

I like it for what I paid for it, though the surfaces could be better. Of course, for them t be better, it would have to grade higher, I would imagine. It is what it is, and is a better representative of the earlier capped bust dime, struck in an open collar than my 1811/09 which is pretty well worn.It might not even make G-4. It was given to me, so its got to be worth more than I paid for it.

By the way .. the reason I dismissed the JR-6 in Russ Logan's colection as a match for this coin had more to do with the overall heaviness of the logotype. The letter placement and light clash marks line up with JR-6, however.
