https://www.preciousmetals.cibc.com/en-CA/Has anyone purchased from CIBC? I didn't know they sold on-line or that they sold NCLT at all so maybe this is new. SMLs at $25.03 are a little expensive though. Spot at the moment is $20.68CAD. Curious about shipping charges, service etc. Any insights are appreciated. Added: Just read through the FAQ. Unspecified shipping charges, admin fees, no returns, very limited number of NCLT and a flaky website. Doesn't look like a good choice for buying though they take credit cards. Sales in Canada only. It's interesting. It could be my last resource to buy sold out coins.

Interesting. I had forgotten about this, found it a while back but let it go cause Scotia Bank has better prices. That said I wouldn't buy from either of them.

Scotiabank is actually a little more ($25.40 for SMLs) right now for bullion but I don't think they sell NCLT.
I really should have made the thread just about selling NCLT because that is the thing I find unusual; didn't realize any banks sold collector coins.

Quote: That said I wouldn't buy from either of them. I think they're trying to sell the bullion to people who want to invest in gold, but don't want to go through the extra work of finding a reliable dealer. This way, it is delivered right to their bank, and put right into a Safety Deposit Box (I would assume). Basically paying a premium for the security and reliability the bank offers (Which is understandable if you just want to invest some money in precious metals, but don't have the knowledge to buy it on your own).

if you just want to buy the bullion I believe you can go in and buy silver certificates, with little mark-up. Would be of interest to speculators, who don't want to pay the 4$ premium on maples. And then lose it when they sell. I am sure someone with more insight can verify this information,..

If you don't want the physical metal, you can buy ETRs on the TSX.

According to the fact on the website
14. Are there any additional costs?
In addition to the purchase price, clients are charged the applicable shipping costs, administration fee and taxes (based on your province or territory).

Hmm well that makes it really no good then...maybe will chat with my financial advisor about competitors and see if they could waive those fees.

You need an account with them and they ask for your SIN.
