Not everyone's 'cup of tea' but the area that most interests me, these are a couple of early Christmas presents that arrived this morning. Both were minted somewhere in Northern Gaul by Constantius in preparation for his invasion of Britain in 293. RIC attributes these coins to Lugdunum.
Constantius
FL VAL CONSTANTIVS NOB C - Bust right, Laureate.
GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI - Genius, naked standing left, modus on head holding patera and cornucopiae
296AD - RIC VI Lugdunum 17a (p243)
Galerius
C VAL MAXIMIANVS NOB C - Bust right, Laureate
GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI - Genius, naked standing left, modus on head holding patera and cornucopiae
296AD - RIC VI Lugdunum 17b (p243)Paid way more than I would normally spend for these two but I dont get to add to my invasion coins as often as I'd like so decided to use Christmas to justify buying them
