Hey Guys

I recently got these as an add on from an auction. I know it's more then likely Completely worthless but has anyone weighed the gold flakes in these? These have no water in them and are much fuller then ones you get at coin or gem shops.

I haven't opened these yet. I was going to take them to a jewelry store to see what they say.

That looks like placer gold, small flakes and bits instead of nuggets. It is the result of water erosion acting on veinious deposits, washing the gold downstream to settle in streams and gravel piles. This gold is found by panning or sluicing.

OK so I was bored and curious. I emptied one of the vials only my scale. It's Zero grains! Oh well. Looks like the shavings are just so small that it Maybe weighs 5 grains total for both of the vials.

Now I don't know how to get it back in.

Oh man I was trying SO hard not to breath on it. I turned off the AC and fans. However my desk is all sparkling now. I combined the 2 and it weighs about 9 grains. That's about 0.01875 Troy Ounces!

Use a straw to suck up the flakes and gently blow them back into the tube?
Just don't get a chest xray for quite a while after doing this or you might blow the equipment.
