Hi..This coin I found in a draw..It say $100.00..It is gold colour and heavy..probably not gold, but that is in Mexican money..I think...Can anyone tell me about this coin...Thanks

You're lucky to have it in such great shape. It probably was issued months or weeks before the Nuevo Peso took over in 1992. "Old" pesos are 1000 for every "new" peso, so you have 10 centavos worth. Mexico used to issue both 5 and 10 centavos coins, but they can't even buy you candy anymore, so it starts at 20, then 50 centavos, then 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 pesos, but you'll be hard-pressed to find a $20 or $50 anymore as they do not normally circulate.

I would put that in an extra large flip to its width. They are made of an aluminum-bronze alloy. They're quite worthless, but yours is in incredible condition.

The alloy of Al Bronze for Australian coins is:
92% Cu, 6% Al, and 2% Ni, to harden the alloy a bit.
I guess this Mexican $100 may be the same.
