It's an Annam (Vietnam) coin cast during the years 1888-1907 by Emperor Nguyen Khanh Tong.

Please see this web page for more information.

As for what the coin actually says: In Vietnamese, the characters are pronounced "Thanh Thai thong bao". Rotate your picture 90 degrees clockwise, then the characters are read in the order top-bottom-right-left.

Thanh Thai is the reign-name for the emperor born Nguyen Phuc Buu Lan. Vietnamese emperors, like their Chinese counterparts, chose reign-names by which they wished to be known by the common people. "Thanh Thai" roughly translates to "towards peacefulness".

The other two characters, "thong bao" in Vietnamese, simply mean "current coin". These same characters also appear on Chinese, Japanese and Korean cash coins, although they are pronounced differently in those languages.

So together, the four characters mean "current coin of the Thanh Thai emperor".
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
