A lot of dirt is now gone since your 2011 post, but actually, the older pic better shows the reverse to have a large central cross pattée with some figures in the angles:
The coin or token is now much more clearly made of brass, which was making me think of a 19th century British imitation "spade guinea" gaming token, until I saw that big cross instead of a portrait.
