I remember reading this for the first time awhile ago and promptly went to my old laser pointer and couldn't get the stupid lens out. I got frustrated and threw across my backyard into some bushes and couldn't find it again.

Haven't tried since. I should really look into this again.

the focal depth of the clip on style is pretty small. you have to get REALLY close to the coin and it ends up blocking most of the light.
