was looking at a youtube video on how to use the smartphone as a microscope ..well it works amazingly ..my only issue is ..its a little too good lol..you cant get the whole coin in the photo ..BUt by taking a regular photo of coin and then taking a macro of the area in question ( if needed ) it work's great ..i will post some photos as examples ..

Yeah, it does work great. I assembled one of these a couple months ago, but like you mentioned, it's only good for really close up shots.
