Can someone please tell me what is going on with this nickel? It has an area that is thinner & defective in the same spot on both sides. If you notice this area is also somewhat misshapen. On top of all of this it has a minor railroad rim effect starting at the error site & going around the entire rim. Also does this coin have any value? Thanks in advance for your help.

I agree, it's a post-strike defect.

Welcome to the forum, btw!

To me the biggest clue is that the coin is not round. So I agree with the others, PSD.
