This seems different than most Struck Through Grease errors. There is a pattern that runs N/S throughout the obverse. Any ideas? The reverse is normal (dirty but normal). All opinions and help are appreciated. Thanks!

Struck Through Grease error. The lines running vertical are rolling lines that is on the stock material. They are so small that they don't get removed even on a normal strike, let alone on a Struck Through Grease error. Here are tow images that show the same lines, but are in different directions struck by the same die pair.

What does this prove? That they are not on the die, but are on the planchets. If they were on the die, they would always be in the same direction. But on the planchets, they can rotate and thus be in different directions if they are on the planchet. (These were found in a OBW roll of BU coins.)
