I have a six clawed bear quarter and the reed (guess that's what its called on the rim) the reed is missing all the way around it. Is this a rare quarter?

A pic is neccesary. The die-break which resulted in your Alaska 6-claw would have nothing to do w/ a reedless piece. I'm thinking most here are witholding an explanation until it can be viewed.

When I get home in about 3.5 hrs ill post y'all some pics! I apologize for not having the pics ready when I posted but had other things going on at the moment. Was on the way to new Orleans to visit my best friend in the lsu hospital icu. He had a bad wreck broke his neck in seven places and his back and leg. I was just looking around on the net and StumbleUpon this sight and I love it so far. I also have some pennies with dd errors that I haven't been able to find out info on

Sorry to hear about your friend, hope he recovers okay. But as far as those coins -- yes, post those pics. Love to see the pennies, too!

I apologize again I got the quarter mixed in with my six clawed bear quarters. It is the same quarter but not six clawed. Again I apologize. Anyway I'm still going to post the pic because I'm still curious about the quarter. Ill get my pennies rounded up and have my facts together when I post next time. Thanks

SEVEN places... ouch, My dad broke his back when he was a kid, fell out of a tree on a boy scout camping trip, the medical morons said he'd never walk again, a few months later he walked out of the hospital.
With seven fractures coin collecting is a better choice than mountain climbing for a hobby, best wishes I hope there are some miracle workers in New Orleans.

Iam surprised this wasn't moved to the U.S. form where those familiar with the coin are.
