Evening everybody and hope ready for Christmas. I have a couple questions about capital plastic holders from an estate that I was asked to sell for.

1. I have 2 holders that are in something that reminds me of a portfolio binder, kind of like the flip covers for legal pad notebooks, that actually attach to the holder themselves through the screws.

2. Second question is I have no idea of value in them and ebay seems all over the place on pricing so I'm going to list here and pray for some assistance.

HOLDERS:
BVD 50B - Walking Liberty half dollar - IN PORTFOLIO
BV10 - MERC. DIMES
492B - Jefferson nickel
BVD1D - FLYING EAGLE/INDIAN - IN PORTFOLIO
BVD50 - Franklin half dollar
467M - Liberty V nickel
NO NUMBER - 3 PLAIN HALF DOLLAR HOLDERS - EACH HOLDS 25

Thank you in advance for any help offered and if pictures are needed please let me know.

Capital Holders are still being sold at many places, including Wizard Coin Supply
That should give you a current retail price for new holders. Then you would need to adjust the prices if they are used or damaged in any way.

Thank you for the reply and yeah I saw them on Wizards site but none in a portfolio like 2 of these are in, so I wasn't sure if that would give them more value. Also if I may ask another question are all capital plastic labeled with their numbers or could the half dollar blanks be from another company?

Not all Capital holders are labeled with their item number, there were, however other manufacturers that produced products quite similar to Capital. Whitman being one. A Capital BVD series holder retails for just about $80 if I recall correctly. If you had the original box you should see a premium for that. Not familiar with the folder you spoke of, just a guess but unless there was a current source for the folder it most likely won't add to the value. I have seen ebay BVD holders sell from $30 to $60 usually.

Thank you and I appreciate the feedback. I'm going to work on them during Christmas week while on vacation and we'll see how they do. Everybody please have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
