For the post-82 cents, so-called Zincolns, the copper cladding can ripple when the coin is minted. I believe that is what happened here. However, there are numerous super experts on this board that will chime in too. Welcome to CCF!
It is Die Deterioration. You see this on the devices on the side that faces the rim. On a BID a part of the die chips off between the devices. This is just die wear. Found often on zincolns.
