I got a roll of 1962 proof nickels by mistake and found 8 different doubled dies all from different dies. I'll just post one of the examples I found. Most are minor, but this one I could get images of.

Okay I have to ask what are you guys using to get such good photos of the coins? I've ask others and the answer was its for me to know and you to find out, so if someone would be kind to let me in on the secrecy of how to, it would be very much appreciated.

I use a camera that was popular in the 1990's. It is a Sony Mavica FD-100. They are real nice to use and real cheap as they use the 3.5 floppies. I bought three of them recently for about $25.00 of ebay. They work great. I've never worn out one yet, but I have many extra to fall back on when they do quit. I have 5 of them now. Also a Mavica FD-90. I probably have all I need of them now. LOL I take the images through a scope:

I was having trouble getting all things to show on the images that I saw on the scope. SO I tried a new trick. I change the sharpness from +0 to +2. It really helps. (Also 10's of thousands of images also help as well.)

Coop,

Am surprised to see that a microscope took such great photos. How many megapixels is your camera, would a 3 megapixel camera work or do you need 5 minimum? Just did a quick search on E-bay, found an 7X-45X Dissecting Circuit 144-LED Zoom Stereo Microscope with 3MP Digital Camera $480.00 Ouch, yet some want a few hundred just for a used head. I guess I'll need to find a lot of rolls with high dollar Errors to buy one.

Many Thanks for that info. now I can only wonder why so many want to keep the how to a secret.

1.2 megapixels. The secret is the macro feature/large image size 1280X960/image sharpening setting on camera/Photoshop editing. All these and editing experience to put it all together. Images take without the scope and just using the macro in the camera:
