Hello Andy I would say clip but only because the edge is rounded and not flat. it looks like someone played with it too but I will go with clip this time and see if I have it. Gary too
Notice the weakness opposite the clip- that is a diagnostic known as the Blakesley Effect that is present on most true clip errors. The tapering of the clip is another diagnostic. http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/...gnostics.htm
I see your point GO. I am still not positive that it is a true clip I would have to see the coin "because of the condition" to know that for sure and I do see some of the charistics of the half on Biokemisr6's post. I have been wrong before though so I like you will wait for the answer from someone that collects this kind of error. Gary too
Thanks for all the responses so far. I was surprised to find this awhile back in a roll of quarters I picked up at the bank. I thought it strange that no one else removed this from circulation since it was so noticeable.
