Seeing as how a 1916 SLQ is worth so much, is it possible to raise the date on a dateless Type I SLQ to see if it is a 1916 (just like you raise the date on a dateless Buffalo nickel)?

There are some markers that will determine if a Dateless T1 is a 1917 or a 1916...
The Drapery in the bottom left,
Weakness of the dots on the shield,
How the head breaks into the rim
and a few others.

I know of nothing that can raise a date on the SLQ. There is Nic-a-date(Ferric Chloride) that people use on dateless Buffalo nickels but it only works with the Copper-Nickel coins. It does not work on silver-copper coins.
People have tried it, all it does is leave a black stain on the quarter.

Like others have said, there isn't a need to raise the date on a SLQ.

I don't know of a way to raise a date on a silver coin. The raise-a-date method for nickels does not work for silver.

You will be SORELY disappointed if you try the nickel method for raising a date on a silver coin.

AND, as pointed out previously, there are definitive methods for determining the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter.

Since the metal is not so compressed in the area of the date, as opposed to the fields immediately next to to it,
is is possible to
scan the area with some sort of scientific instrument, looking for signs of differential metal stress?
