Hmmm I see like you don't really trust him. Don't buy it if you don't trust the seller, Paypal or other method doesn't make the difference if you don't trust from the beginning.

baseball - your post office is not using standard protocol for cashing a postal money order. They are supposed to copy your driver's license/state/federal issued photo id info.

Adding a layer by using credit card - also adds another party in the chain.

The bottom line - something has you wondering out loud on this deal. Listen to your gut...and walk away.

When I buy and sell to respected members on coin forums, I always do money orders or occasionally a check. I don't deal with paypal.

Are you sure yours isn't doing extra? I've cashed them at two different ones including one thats a major distribution hub for our area so its not like a small PO with a lazy worker.

Even if mine are just being lazy (maybe its because I go there so much they all know me by now) that really would just help arrest the person. It wouldnt do any good for getting your money back once its cashed.

"Problem is it is more money than I could comfortably stand to lose, but the difference in PayPal fees is about $50."
For $50 you would risk losing that amount of money is the way I'd look at it. Better safe than sorry if you can't risk it.
