I was in the process of listing over 300 coins tonight on ebay (a fairly normal amount for me)as that is my livelihood when a message pops up that I can't relist anything for 24 hours, costing me hundreds of dollars. It turns out someone reported one of my coins as a fake/replica and not only did they delete the coin but they stopped my ability to list. I was on hold for over an hour to talk to a supervisor as none of the people I spoke to had the slightest knowledge about coins and I have yet to speak to anyone that can do anything about it. The 5th person I spoke to actually told me that all coins have to be certified to be listed on ebay. They said that as it has happened twice before they are restricting my account.

One of the previous times it was an NGC certified coin they removed because they claimed it wasn't certified and I listed the Grade, when it clearly was certified and was in an NGC holder. The other time they removed 2 cent coins without giving any reason.

Anyhow here is the coin in question. Does this look like a fake to anyone? I buy all my coins from a reputable local dealer that has been in the business for 40+ years so I would be very surprised if a fake coin went through his hands undetected.

I have moved your thread to the Auction section. ebay has certain rules in place about coins removed from slabs and how much you can say about their former grade. The members that frequent this section would have better knowledge of those rules.

Actually the coin that got removed because I stated the grade was still in a slab. To this day I have no idea why they removed it. When I called them up they admitted it was an error and let me relist it, however, it is apparently still on my record as a listing infraction.

The photos are sorta pixelated, but I don't see anything telltale. Most fakes mess up the date in some way--and I'm good with dates--but I don't see any red flags there.

Most likely a competitor, or one of the self appointed ebay coin cops, reported the coin for listing violations. Coins do not have to be certified to be listed. However, you cannot assign raw coins a numerical grade. Usually ebay will make you take an online listing tutorial, slap you on the wrist and release you on your own recognizance. If you have prior sanctions they may suspend you for a while.

Your coin looks real to me.

A little warning .. do not keep phoning ebay as they record how often you are calling now and mark you out as a trouble maker. and are using it as another way to get rid of "Bad sellers"

Still waiting for my 24 hour listing block to end

However, I now have all this free time and have managed to write and correspond with quite a few guys here that has been very enjoyable. It has been a bit of a reminder that I need to definitely make sure I don't get so caught up in the business side that I forget about this fascinating hobby we are all a part of and neglect this great resource we have here at CCF.

Merry Christmas to you all!

I drew a 14 day suspension one time. I needed a vacation anyway so it was really no big deal. I've been a good boy the last 5 or 6 years.

Merry Christmas to you too!
