First guess is the Gallic Emperor Tetricus Barbarous radiant from the 270's probably originating somewhere in Gaul.

I believe it is a barbarous CONSECRATIO issue of Claudius II. Look in WildWinds, RIC 259. The RIC is the actual imperial issue.

Probably Claudius 'Gothicus'.
Obverse is DIVO CLAVDIO and the reverse is an altar.
Postumous issue by his successors - either Aurelian or his brother Quintillus who had a very short reign post Claudius.

Just looked at wildwinds at the reverse of Tetricus 1 and 2 and no match. But it does look like him.

It could be the RIC 259, I think we are in the right direction. Thanks

Its a barbarous imitation of Claudius II - DIVO CLAVDIO / CONSECRATIO showing a flaming altar. One of the most common issues around. In the lot of uncleaned coin I received today, I got 2. I wouldnt clean it any further.

Luckily, its an interesting issue - Who issued them? Quintillus didnt rule long enough for there to be so many of them (officially issued, that is). The barbarians probably issued so many because its an easy design to cut a die for (perhaps to train the new Celators before moving on to harder designs like FEL TEMPs)
