I came across this cut-out of Britannia while sorting through some coins my mother-in-law gave to me. It looks like it might have been cut out of an English penny. The figure is 25 mm high by 18 mm wide.

Do you think this is something collectible to someone, or just destined for my junk box?

it's from a UK penny - Victoria veil head 1895-1901

It makes for a nifty trinket, I suppose. Possibly worth a bit more than the coin it was cut from.

poor Brittania seems to have had her left hand sawed off...

Yeah, too bad her hand is missing! Also I think usually (for jewellery) the outer rim of the coin is included.

Thai-Vic -- That reminds me of a discussion post on a different website years ago. A newbie coin collector thought Britannia was a "senator in a wheelchair". It's stuck in my mind since then.
