So I was reading on the PCGS Currency board that there having a show at the end of February this year. My question is do they allow you to use Credit Cards at these shows? I know to get into the show you may have to pay a small fee to enter, but I was wondering when you purchase from a Dealer can you use credit cards or is it like most places Cash Only? I live in Columbia, South Carolina and I have never been to a currency show and I think if I get to go in 2014 it will have to be this one. I am very excited about it and didn't know if any of you have been or if you know about this one coming up. Thanks a lot. Also do you have any advice when you go to these shows, or any cool stories. I have you-tubed currency shows in the past but there just isn't many good videos out there. Happy New Year!

I've been to a few out here in the west coast. And just like any other show, most dealers accept credit cards. Often times they will have the Square Up or Paypal card readers on their smartphones. Which will allow them to get an instant approval notice. However, there are a couple of old birds that still do the ancient "card slider" devices.

It should probably be a decent show. And it is certainly more of a coin show than a paper money show.

Thanks for all the responses. I am a gold member with PCGS Currency and I wanted to get some notes graded on site possibly but they only do that at like 3 of there shows all year. So I take it you have been to this show nationals? I was hopping to see tables full of just currency, I too collect coins but right now I am interested in US Paper Currency.
Anyone ever been to this show in Atlanta? I want to make it worth my 5 hour drive, and hope I am not dissappointed. Do you think its worth traveling for?

I'll be heading up there. That's about a 90 minute ride each way for me. I've been to coin shows there before but not an ANA show. I think the ones I went to were Whitman shows.

The ANA money show is a rotating show. It has been in Atlanta in the past, and apparently a lot of cool stuff walked in the door. If you want a paper money only show then you need to go to Memphis in June or PCDA or CPMX, both in Chicago. PCGS grades on site at all of those shows. PCGS will of course also be at the FUN show in Orlando next week as well.

Thank you so much for the information Nationals. I saw a few videos on you tube at the Memphis show. I am not sure If I can attend the show in June due to my job as an Army Drill Sergeant. Summer time is when we pick up our most Soldiers especially right out of high school. The wife and I are trying to plan a weekend trip in Atlanta. I think there is a Coke Museum and some sort of Aquarium, that way we are not just making a day trip out of it.

If your looking for history in Atlanta, try this. http://www.southernmuseum.org The museum house's "The General", the train stolen in the "Great Train Chase" of the Civil War. The soldiers involved were the first recipients of the Medal of Honor and the action is considered one of the first times small unit tactics were utilized. The Atlanta show is expected to have over 500 dealers so there might! be a table or two of currency. Look around and you can probably find a piece of currency from the "Western and Atlantic Railroad". (See my avatar)

Hey thanks for all the great information Jimjumper. I will have to take a journey out there to the museum and take a look at the "Great Train Chase". I am just waiting to see what we have going on at work which will allow me time off to spend a few days down in Atlanta.

Understand the Boot Camp thing might keep you busy. I went through Navy boot camp in '77. Retired in '97. Actually did my "A" school in Charleston.
