I ran across this quarter and was wondering if this error is rare or what. It is missing part of the edge all the way around. It is missing the copper half of the edge. Just w oundering if it was worth anything.

That was probably caused by someone putting it in an acid bath to try and clean it. The copper on the edge normally dissolves first.

The planchets are created as a copper/clad sandwich prior to pressing. Sometimes when pressed the clading oozes up the side over the copper core.
