A friend of my Grandmas is a member of an Indian reservation, and receives monthly gifts for donating to them. This is a coin she received through mail from them.

Any definition of what these markings are, or if the coin is just a fake, any insight would be great.

Common replica of a "widows Mite". Not sure what that would have to do with an Indian Reservation?

I'm not sure either. Although I do thank you for the help in identification.

Its a replica. Too crude to be real.

A lot of times the Churches on the Indian reservations will send out promotional material, usually highlighting an inspirational story, some historical event or a passage from the Bible. I got a letter one time with some sort of wood whistle, along with a story about a traditional musician from the tribe that used the echos from canyon walls in his music. I've also seen pennies and nickels attatched, along with other things. So I could easily see a replica of a widows mite being attatched to a letter solicitating donations.
