Hello, I picked up a few rolls of RCM 2013 UNC quarters from the bank. RBC opened a box of quarters from a box sealed with RCM tape and I got the rolls from there. The rolls are wrapped with paper instead of plastic which I am used to seeing. TD Bank has the same type of rolls. Wrapped with paper as well. My question is: is paper the new material for all types of wrapping? If so, for those who have purchased rolls from J&M and other dealers, do they have plastic-wrapped rolls or paper rolls?

Good question. Only rolls wrapped in paper from the mint that I have bought are the special collector rolls. All other rolls bought have been in plastic. Wish I could help you more!

The thing is, if I were to sell these rolls at a premium, how would I get my buyers to trust me? They could think that I opened a plastic roll (and didn't find anything interesting) and took them to TD to "rewrap" them and thereby still calling the coins uncirculated.

I also thought of the possibility of not opening the box and selling the coins in a box. That couldn't happen because no one knows what's in the box.

I know the banks were getting paper wrapped arctic series quarters but all other mint rolls I've seen this year have been plastic...

Okay. If the arctic series quarters are wrapped with paper, the caribou normal quarters wrapped with paper shouldn't be too uncommon.

The arctic series are wrapped in plastic, they sold them directly at the exchange events.

If, in the future, everything will be in paper, it would be harder to buy and sell rolls. You just can't look at the rims of coins.

Quote: is paper the new material for all types of wrapping? I am not sure how new is new. But 2013 loonies are still available in shrinkwrapped rolls Also there are shrinkwrapped rolls of quarters available which are not UNC - picked them up less than two weeks ago. When the Grey Cup loonies came out they were being distributed at Shoppers Drug Mart. One could find them in both varieties - paper and shrink wrap.

I opened up a roll of my quarters with damaged paper wrapping. Everything was uncirculated, but I was not impressed with the circulation quality of the coins. Not even one coin passed MS65 as I compared them with my two ICCS MS65 quarters from 1991.
I think I should use the other two.
