My information suggests that with the right end of the EPU scroll ends in the middle of the M in AMERICA and the E in EPU being in the middle of the D in UNITED, it is reverse A. That reverse was paired with Obverse 1. On the obverse we see the thirteenth star point close to the lower curl of the hair. I matched up some of the die pitting (gouging) with a few photos on PCGS just to double check.

Jason, I'm digging your pictures!

And, of course, I'll look at sweet Capped Busties all day long!

Superb coin, superb pics and a slam-dunk attribution as the only 1825 with the I that far right of the T.

Thanks. This was a fun coin to shoot.
Anyone want to grade it for me?
Do these sell better in plastic or raw?

That's....the other part. O-101 is not a scarce variety for this year, but like most Busties the value climbs to high levels as the grade goes up. I don't have enough here to come down firmly regarding the AU/BU differentiation or surface originality, but if you twist my arm I'm going to call it MS-62.

It needs to be in a slab for resale. Floor-level value for PCGS plastic - AU58 - is in the neighborhood of $800. Double/triple that if you can get it into a Mint State holder.

Thanks SsuperDdave. I am on the fence with high AU low MS myself. The high points don't show wear, but have tone. I am not sure how a grader will see those areas in person.
