Hello,
I found a 2000 New Hampshire (Old Man of the Mountain) State Quarter that has a worn look with missing features. It appears to be thinner than an average quarter and it also looks like it's missing the copper center when viewing the edge. It also doesn't have ridges on the edge. I was wondering what happened and if it's worth anything other than a quarter? (I took the photos with my camera phone so I apologize for the quality.)

Thank you for the welcome and thank you for your feedback!
I never heard of a Dryer Coin before. That's interesting and I liked the visual samples.
I can see that being the cause. I'm still curious about the lack of a copper core and why it's thinner than an average quarter. It could be the distorted metal just makes it look like the copper is missing.
Rest in Peace

Yep. And it's thinner because it got beat up.

By the way, we often say it's a ' Dryer Coin' but it could have been stuck in another machine that caused similar damage or maybe somebody threw it into a rock polisher. There's no way to know for sure where it's been.

I found a Thin New Hampshire also. I compared it to a dime and it's the same thickness. Mine does not have the wear look that yours has but the reverse is very similar. What would a clad quarter on dime stock weigh?
