Just bought these 12 40% bootleggers off ebay for $38.24 including postage. That is right at $.20 over melt value.

There are still some good deals on the auction site but you really have to put the time in searching, or just get real lucky.

Rick

I had 14 rolls for sale on the sales page last year for melt with no takers.

Every day I had to edit the ad as silver kept going up and still had no takers when I forgot to update the price for a few days and my price was under melt.

Go figure.

Patience is the key. It's funny how there are no takers on 'this or that' listing. I guess some listings just don't catch the eye or something. I found some good deals before Christmas, like 90% for almost melt.....must have needed Christmas $. The deals seem less now.

Man you ain;t joking.

I emailed a fellow member of the local coin club with whom I trade (check out that kings English ) my 90% Kennedy roll finds for coins for my albums except I filled up all of my Franklins, Walkers, Barber dimes quarters and halves, silver proof sets, and then some so when I found 178 40%ers the other day I sent him an email I would sell them to him for 5% under melt for that day with a 5 day guarantee.

He usually only checks his emails once a week and I was only half serious as silver is down and he usually to never will take 40%ers but all of them are taking up space in the safe.

Anywho a guy who I do not recognize comes into work and says he is looking for me. He bought some halves I sold on Craigslist last year I guess. He asked if I hdd any silver and I said I had a few 40% rolls. He said he had $3K and had a budget of an additional $1K each month for the rest of the year and to give him a call anytime I had something to sell. He said he would even pay over melt.

So what's the problem you say?

The guy from the club emails me tonight to call him tomorrow.

Go figure.

When it rains it pours.

Hopefully this new guy works out as he said if I have anything call him. Don't call anyone else or post it on Craigslist as he would take it like the guy I found who buys all of my copper pennies.
