At first I had to look up whether I had an 1880 Indian cent error. And then I noticed that it isn't even an 1880 Indian cent. Anyone else see why?

So, NGC messed up. Is the seller doing anything wrong by listing it? Would ebay remove it for an error in the listing?

Position of last feather and location of last A in America in relation to lower curl make it an '86 or later.

It is a double struck coin. I personally don't think the seller is doing anything wrong.

Kinda nice "double error". NGC has some 'splainen to do.

I know it is not an 1880 IHC due to the location of the last feather on the headdress. I am guessing it is an 1890, but it is difficult to tell. Yes, NGC messed up, big time, and the mistake also got by the seller. I think the seller should be made aware so they can relist the coin correctly.

Robbudo, you seem to have a knack for finding these incorrect listings on ebay, Good eye.

It doesn't matter.
The listing is in violation of ebay's rules.
My guess is that it will be delisted soon.

Truth is, an 1880 off center Indian Head cent is much more rare than a post 1886 off center. Whoever submitted it for slabbing probably welcomed the error by NGC. I'll send the seller a friendly note.

It's either an 1880 or 1890 from what I can gather. That is definitely a zero on the end. Nonetheless, nice error.
