Any time you have someone lets you know there are literally 20 to 30 times the previous known population, the price will be destroyed. There are rumours that a Canadian dealer has a roll of 2000P dimes as such the auctions price has steadily declined over the last year.

That is low but only us error collectors place such a value on these to begin with. To everyone else its just a penny not worth more than melt value. So even at half price its still not too bad. Save your scarce nickels because they'll be the next ones to go. IMO

Thats not true. I sell a lot of these on ebay and 95% of my sales for 2006 no logo no p magnetic are Canadian. Over half of the ones I sell go to Quebec. These are extremely hard to find in circulation/bank boxes of pennies.

Has an ICCS pop report come out post the Hamilton hoard? It used to be a scarce thing to find on ebay, then everyone was desperately trying to get trends. There are so many available, and no indication where the bottom would be.

@john100:
Were the official 1999P and 2000P samples released in rolls? The 1999P had a collector release too in the harder plastic that is sometimes used.

My understanding was the 2000p dimes were given to vending operators on a deposit system to test the new ply coin but why do you create a test piece exactly like production coin, so most of the dimes were kept by the operators forfeiting their deposit. There maybe a large operator was given a roll which apparently is in the hands of a large Quebec dealer, the 1999 p coins I am not familiar with. I think the RCM issued them for public sale

I believe and think that a small amount of 1999p coins where introduced to the public as well, some Vancouver dealers advertised them as coming out of BU bank rolls in 1999-2000
