Seeing as how the Early American copper portion of the collection was shared a few days ago, I thought that CCF members might enjoy seeing some of the other coins in the National Collection.

Thanks for that link Meadowview it adds to the one I posted! What a fantastic site - I can't believe it took me so long to find it, considering all the time I spend online looking at coin stuff and doing searches on the subject.

Wow, a lot of nice looking coins, that I would love to have. No thing new there!
If I were to get a Pismo clamshell, how would that be slabbed for authenticity...

I saw the collection display in person a couple of time. when they had it on the second floor at the Smithsonian. They are awesome looking in person.

My brother and I visited the Smithsonian in 2011. The first place we went was to the "Stories on Money".

I recall seeing an 1849 $20 Pattern, a 1933 St. Gaudens, a newer colorized $5 bill (it wasn't crisp and the serial number wasn't anything special) and I seem to recall the $100,000 gold note on display.

I definitely enjoyed the exhibit.
