It's been awhile since I've posted here...

With all the problems with their weekly auctions, I still managed to get this amazing Morgan toner for what I thought was a very decent price. The first set of pics are theirs (Stacks), the next set is mine. Can't beat the combo of magenta and blue-green plus the luster is great! You really can't see all that in their pictures, except for some of the color.

PCGS MS-65 (in a pre-doily holder I believe):

I don't follow Morgans much but when I saw who posted it I knew it would be special. A top notch looker that would make any a collector proud.

It's a beautiful coin no doubt but there seems to be a lot of marks in the fields on both sides and on the cheek in your pics. Are they all on the slab and not the coin?

OK, that's pretty silly.

Low-end for a 65, but not out of line, factoring the harsh reality which digital photography imposes upon coins. I've seen worse in 65 slabs which were slam-dunk in the grade, held in-hand.

with SD comments, I really think this is a MS64 coin that was bumped up due to the coloring! Looks pretty lustrous too.

Thanks for the props! Yes, my digital pic makes the coin look worse, mark-wise. In hand, the coin looks very clean, an easy 65. There are tiny marks in the fields and on the slab, and the cheek has toning spots, but no major dings. This is where the color pretty much overrules the grade anyway.

That is Awesome! The reverse is toned in the same gold that the reverse of my toned 1886 dollar is.
