Now let me start this off with the fact I am by no means an American collector. Most of you have probably seen me skulking around in the Ancient section of the forum but that doesn't mean I can't look at other coins as well. I am not cheating on my dear Ancients if I just look right?

I have been wanting a Morgan for awhile. I didn't care much about years. Now that I have one though she sure is one heck of a pretty lady and I may need another! I thought I would share with all of you fine folks.

Now I warn you she isn't the prettiest of ladies and may not be nice and shiny MS60 and up like yours. But she is pretty in my eyes!

For a long time I also wasn't too interested in Morgans but after finding one a lot like yours I have come to totally love them. From 1 to well, a lot more than that, all grades, all mints, some blast white some rainbow toners. Once you start you don't stop.

I predict that by the end of the week you will have the whole series and will be ready to move on to Peace dollars. Happy collecting!

Nice one for sure! Tone or tarnish? up to you but it's go nice crisp lines lightly circulated but not like she's showing her 128 years half of mine are pocket coins heavily circulated and badly worn, no one's putting numbers and I'm still just guessing but I'd say 53 at least maybe up to 60 even.

Great cointo the club!
Rest in Peace

As noted above, VAMworld is a great place to hunt for info on Varieties within the Morgan dollars, specifically this page helps out alot;

The eye appeal is sweet, if your happy with the purchase, then that is all that matters. Morgans rank up there in respect to eye appeal, often I see the eye appeal push the grade up a bit, especially when it comes to the Toned Morgans - those are my Favorite !

Thanks for the kind words.

While I won't be rushing out to buy Morgan dollars it is nice to have one in the collection. More will be added slowly but surely if I see a price I like.

I like my coins to look like they have a little character to them which is why I love this coin.

My next goals for American coins are some of those nice early American large cents. I really need to track down one of those Dansco 7070 albums. That is basically what I want out of American coins. One example of each. Thinking out loud.

As for VAMing I don't think I could get into it. I have Late Roman Bronzes if I want to go into small details that change the coin!
