Bought this out of a 6 for $1 box. The scan shows nothing, I'm afraid.

On the obverse, you can see the outline of liberty and the bun behind her head; LI_E; and 179_. On the reverse, you can see the 1/100, and the bow has a stem on the right.

Another large cent included for size comparison.

So, did I overpay?

So your asking if you overpaid for a 179- something large cent you bought for less than 25c?

Wow that's a rough coin. I like it though. I'm amazed that you can make out even a partial date on it.

Even with chesterb's math, I would have picked it up. Maybe wise minds than I can guide you in imaging to help with identification.

Wow has that coin ever been abused! I've seen a lot of worn down coppers but this is something. Even after saying that I would buy those all day long for 25c.
