It looks late Byzantine, a gold hyperpyron of the type not introduced until after the Byzantine recapture of Constantinople in AD 1261, with the obverse depicting Mary within the city walls, and reverse the two emperors with Christ standing between them. Over time, the design got cruder and cruder and the gold got more and more debased. I would estimate the date of yours to be somewhere around AD 1300, plus or minus a couple of decades. I'm not sure which emperors are depicted on your coin, but it's something like this example from Wildwinds depicting emperors Andronicus II and Michael IX.
