Apart from the standard issue, were there any other $1 and $2 coins issued in 2013?
The last couple of years there were a couple of different ones.

If you mean commemorative Toonies and Loonies intended for actual circulation (I call them CC Loonies/Toonies), no, there were no such issues in 2013.
The last time there was no CC Toonie was in 2010, the last time there was no CC Loonie was in 2007, which also saw no CC Toonie.
In December 2013, the RCM got the authorisation to mint the ''2014 Lucky Loonie'' commemorating the canadian team for the Oympics in Sotchi. The coin should be offered by the RCM soon.

I'm still hoping for a Commemorative Toonie for the 200th anniversary of buring the Whitehouse. That would complete my 1812 collection.

As for 2013 regular loonies and toonies, I haven't run into any in circulation yet, so I think it ended up being a pretty low mintage year.

Toonies have not run into but loonies that is a different story. I have run into 2013 loonies by the truckload in Ontario.

Would really appreciate if you can share with us your source for knowing this information i.e. how does one know that RCM got authorization?

Thx
