For all you business strike collectors out there. Do you consider the Uncirculated sets that the mint sells as business strikes? Would they be in the Charlton classification of MS? C, or MS? NC?

No I DONT consider them as business strikes as they are for sets and never exposed to the regular business strike life.
And they are specifies as MS nc aka numismatic uncirculated.

I remember someone said the year set before 2010(?) are different strike, which was called Proof Like by some dealers. However recently they just put normal circulation coins in set. We can see this because the coins in 2012 coin set have many bag marks.

I believe the sets were Proof Like up until 1967. Then they became Brilliant Uncirculated (MS NC in Charlton or Numismatic BU in the ICCS comment field) in 1968. ICCS switched over from PL to NBU sometime in the 70's I think so you see the same coin with a PL or NBU grade depending on when it was graded. 2011 to date the sets are Circulation.

business strikes are a lot different they are graded from G to MS, UNC and so on
1953 - 1967 sets - Proof-Like sets - PL
1968 - Present sets - Numismatic Brilliant Uncirculated NBU or BU

I did not know that 2011 to date the coins in the sets are considered circulation strikes....is this true?

2011 12 13 Uncurculated set coins are exactly the same as coins issued to the banks.
No special strike, no special handling.

The TPG can't distinguish recent years.

It's the production and handling, not the distribution channel, that determines whether something is a business strike.

The $25 set is simply ridiculously expensive for what it offers. A complete year roll set is $117 (mint sells the 50c for $25)
