Has anyone seen or heard on how these curved coins are going to be packaged or holdered by the mint and the TPGs? Since this is the first curved coin the mint has produced I am curious on how these coins will be presented by the mint and TPGs.

Probably the same way the TPG's slabbed the Perth Mint extra thick " high relief " coins last year. With extra thick capsules and slabs. And a little " bear grease " to keep them soft and suppple. And a mini baseball, so they keep their shape when you put them away for the winter

Dencos comments actually just reminded me the Perth Mint has done a few of these curved coins in the past so this wont be the first time slabbing them as long as the mint didnt go to the extreme with the shape.

What I want to know is how I can get this years Hall of Fame entrants to sign the collection.
Seriously - my favorite pitcher of all time in the hall with Greg Maddux
Then you have Tony Larusa, Bobby Cox, Joe Torre, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas..
That is a very notable Hall of Fame class... can you imagine the value a set of signed 2014 Hall of Fame coins would have?

If they do graded ones with HOF signatures I may have to buy every one made. I'm sure it would be kind of pricey with what a Maddux signature usually goes for on its own, but that would be incredible.

This year's HoF inductees absolutely make for a great class. Tom Seaver will always be my favorite pitcher, but Greg Maddux is a close second.
I agree that linking the 75th anniversary coins with the 75th anniversary inductees via autograph would make for a great keepsake. I bet there will be one or more autograph sessions at the induction ceremonies that could make getting signatures from the inductees on COAs a possibility.

Oh man... OH MAN!! What an awesome idea. And to have such a great group of inductees. Can you imagine having the set with all the inductees signatures?!
I'm getting nervous just thinking about it.
Road trip anyone? We could rent a ccf charter bus. Non stop to Cooperstown!

Sorry if I'm taking this thread off topic, but when is the release date in relation to the HOF induction?

Quote: When is the release date in relation to the HOF induction? The Mint is still listing the release date as TBD, but I think it's a safe bet that it will be prior to the induction ceremonies. (Unless they plan to release them at the ceremonies!)

It hasn't been announced but I can see the Mint producing a set with the ‘73 Clemente and ‘05 Robinson Medal on the ends of the '14 Uncirculated Silver and Clad HOF coins in a similar packaging of the 5 star general profile set with lots of room for various HOF signatures you can get at your pleasure when they came to your neck of the woods. So better idea might to be to wait for the Uncirculated Baseball HOF set like they did last year with the 5 star Profile Collection comes out and that would provide lots of room for various HOF autographs, not just the 3 going into the Baseball HOF this year. But as for as the voting process of the HOF goes. . . its awful. Some of the writers just play around and give votes to people that have zero chance of getting in. You had people like J.T. Snow, Hideo Nomo and Eric Gagne getting votes!! Nice players but not the elite of the elite that should go in. I guess its objective voting but really . . these players? Whatever.

Quote: I can see the Mint producing a set with the ‘73 Clemente and ‘05 Robinson Medal on the ends of the '14 Uncirculated Silver and Clad HOF coins The only way for the US Mint to include a Clemente medal in any type of special set would be for Congress to pass - and the President to sign into law - a new bill authorizing such. The Clemente medals were struck under the authority of a Public Law for a private organization; the Act specifically forbids the striking of the medals after December 31, 1974. The Jackie Robinson medal could be included in a set, however, as it does not have any date restrictions due to it being struck on behalf of the US Congress.

Yep, I just looked it up and H. R. 3841, Public Law 93-33 - Sec 3 "No medals shall be made under the authority of this Act after December 31, 1974.", covers the Clemente medal. Public Law 108â€"101 ie the '05 Jackie Robinson medal does not specify a date limitation on minting medals like you said. It won't have time to include in this year's Baseball HOF set and I don't know what the status of H.R. 3186: Hank Aaron Congressional Gold Medal Act is, but it also would not have a date limitation for minting if passed. Thanks again for the input.
