Can anyone please tell me what might be a price range on value of a 1958 d/d in superb condition maybe ms 64 or 65 range.at the moment just curious if it is truly worth anything. I'm sorry at the moment. I do not have a camara that has the capability of the zoom yet it's just a question for now. I'm really very curious is it worth anything if it were a true d/d in the state I mentioned. Please inform me just based upon the question. Thanks

Definitely need a pic. and I am certainly no expert in this area of numismatics. But, this

leads me to think it is strike/machine doubling. Does the spread present itself in the same direction on the MM and date? Stone here is a pretty good article on types of doubling.... http://hermes.csd.net/~coneca/conte...lyer-PDF.pdf

I've moved this to a place where it will find a better-qualified audience.

Stone bone, you might want to mention the denomination of the coin....

We still don't know if it's a Cent or a Half. That's sort of necessary.

In a book called Looking Through Lincoln Cents it is noted that in 1958 Masteer Die Doubling shous up in the 8 of the date this year. These are noted as very common. RPM's too are very common this year as well as die cracks, beaks and other minor anomalies. The so called Doubling on the Mint mark is what well may be the RPM. RPM is a Repunched Mint Mark.
Sorry but sounds like yours is one of these.
