Hello, do somebody know something about this coin with the year 1997 instead of 1998? There is no Information and no Price in the catalog.
I have this coin and haven't seen it offered.
Thank You.

I see no problem with the Krause KM#44 GreenTree Python listing of the 1997 CuNi Unc, and 1998 CuNi proof.
At the time of publication of my copy Krause, the mintage figures must have been unavailable, but typically for Papua New Guinea, mintages figures are usually less than 1,000 pieces for each year.

It is no surprise to me that you have seen none offered for sale, but when they do come up, they can be bought for less than $20.

My mistake. Both the unc and proof are .925 silver.
Krause lists a value for a proof at $50 in my edition.

It not CuNi, it silver and proof. Even 1998, normal year costs near 50 USD, by 1997 there is no price, only -----.

This coin is listed as KM# 44 in Krause 2012. 31,43 g of 925/1000 silver with a diameter of 38.6 mm. It should have a reeded edge. Krause lists a regular 1997 strike and a proof 1997 strike. No mintages are given. Value of the proof version is 65$.

On their website, the value of the proof piece has been raised to 70 $
See: http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/wo...mSearch=true
But, on the website they do not have a picture of the 1997 issue (only the one dated 1998)

Further investigation has learnt that NGC never slabbed a 1997 issue (but also no 1998 issue)
