I can't see any evidence of tampering, and it doesn't appear to be counterfeit either. It was part of a large collection with a number of higher value notes.
It's very hard to determine whether these errors are authentic. There are so many that have had their serial numbers chemically removed, which is why I generally avoid these notes.
One thing that is usually a red flag is how circulated the note is. For such an obvious error, it seems odd nobody would have noticed, and saved it.
If it is "Missing serial numbers" error....A type of serial number error..For a 1.00 the book says maybe up to 400.oo ,,,,,,,,Or even if we say both sides missing the even up to 800.oo .......Could be a great note
Pokermandude...I have ran your bill trough a program I use for analysis.I can not see where it was chemically removed..I am no expert, but to me it looks authentic..just my opinion though.
Thanks for the responses everyone. That is a neat program, thanks for posting the images. I took a 10x loup to it and couldn't see any evidence of tampering in the serial number area either.
