Found a few notes today just wondering if they are keepers.

Radar note in F-VF condition

2007 Serial Number: ELT 0213120 I also saw that ELT is a replacement note prefix according to http://coinsandcanada.com/bank-note...-journey.php , does this mean anything special? I know 4 digit radars aren't very rare.

Also a Birthday $20 note in VF-EF condition

2005 Serial Number: ALN 1911971 (19th Jan 1971) I checked on ebay and did not see very many Canadian "birthday" notes for sale? Is there even a market for these?

I couldn't find anything on the Gilies list, coinscanada or cdnpapermoney stating ELT having a replacement range... sorry.. I'm not saying there isn't one.. just that I couldn't find it.

People like radars.. so even in F condition you still may get a bit of a premium for the note.. but I'm not sure it would be worth it after the fees.

Replacements are generally only really getting a premium if they're in UNC or better condition.

Birthday notes are cool.. but it depends on your access to information (like other people's birthdays) and how deep your pockets are. (Can you hold on to a couple hundred notes that will only appeal to a VERY limited number of people.

Personally when I go bundles of notes.. and find a birthday note.. I simply check my data base of just under 800 people I work with... if it's one of their birthdays.. I give them the note at face.. that's it. I have NEVER sold a birthday note for profit.. I just don't have the patience to run into "THAT" person and for them to actually WANT that date...
Rest in Peace

You could add your birthday note to the list.
