As some of you may have read I recently acquired an ms62 PCGS 1859 narrow 9 canadian cent.
The holder is a bit scratched up with hair lines and small blemishes right over the obverse, is there a way of getting rid of these and if so will it affect the genuiness of the certification.
The holder is matte with a smooth clear round plastic window for the coins viewing, the coin is not held in with small fingers but completely encircled with a plastic ring of sorts(the plastic is on the entire edge of the coin).

I use a product by Novus.
Comes in a set of three:
-- heavy scratch remover
-- fine scratch remover
-- plastic clean and shine

You can also send it off to PCGS for reholdering, although that costs you a bit.

PCGS is about to start accepting reholder coins for $5.00 each...plus all of the shipping and other fees, if you are a member. Improved scratch resistance I saw in the article.
